ANNEALING
OF PLASTICS
Annealing of Plastics is an important
step in the plastic machining process. Annealing
is obtained when metal or plastic is subjected
to a process of heating and slow cooling in order
to toughen the substrate and reduce brittleness.
This is also an ideal process to strengthen or
harden materials.
While not all components require
Annealing, the advantages for some materials and
part components is quite significant. Post-machining
annealing can also improve the properties of some
components, especially those produced in harder
materials.
Arrow Cryogenics maintains ovens
that are programmable to reach 500 degrees F.
The entire Annealing cycle is recorded on graph
paper to assure quality control.
