Vibratory deburring is a faster process for softer materials. Barrel tumbling is a longer, more aggressive process that will provide better radiusing on hard materials.

The choice of media is dependent on several factors, including the part material and the desired finish. Common media include: steel media, ceramic balls, plastic, organic media, and wet tumbling compounds.
