Dry Film LubRICANT

Dry film lubricants reduce the amount of friction & enhance wear resistance. Additionally, it offers protection and are better suited for parts used in extreme environmental conditions, often with high or low temperatures, when liquids, oils, or grease can’t be used. The material prevents seizing and galling, further enhancing the reliability and durability of the components.

Cutting the Friction, Improving Performance

Dry film lubricant (DFL) is meticulously engineered to significantly reduce friction between surfaces. Its advanced formulation ensures optimal performance even in the harshest environments, including extreme temperatures and high-pressure situations where conventional liquid lubricants fail.

Benefits of Dry Film Lube
  • Effective moisture barrier
  • Unaffected by heat or cold
  • Appropriate for many materials – metal, plastics, and wood
  • Resistant to solvents
  • Simplifies lubricating inaccessible parts
  • Supports parts requiring frequent removal
  • Provides long-term protection

If it Slides, Turns, Moves, Connects

Many industries rely on dry film lube, also known as dry lubes or solid film lube, because of the coating’s effectiveness and versatile applications. We use various formulations to meet customer specifications for optimum performance.

Common Parts that Benefit from Dry Film Lubricant
  • Aluminum gun parts
  • Gears
  • Sprockets
  • Hydraulic assemblies
  • Fasteners, cables, and couplings
  • Bearings and rollers
  • Aerospace sliding components
  • Molds
  • Firearms
  • Stainless Steel Threaded Parts
  • And more

FAQs

Dry film lube, also called dry lubes or solid film lube, is a coating that replaces the need for liquid, oils or grease lubrication, especially for parts used in extreme environmental conditions to prevent galling or seizing.

As a versatile coating, dry lube has many applications. Beyond reducing friction on moving parts, solid film lube, as it is also called, protects hydraulic assemblies, improves mold release, and treats fasteners,  cables, and couplings for better operation.

Coating thickness of dry film lube varies depending on the intended result. Generally the coating is 0.1 – 0.2 mils.
