Rapid Prototyping & 3D Printing
We use your 3D computer design to produce a rapid fused deposition prototype, so you avoid the need for costly injection molding of small quantities.
Break the Production Mold
Our Stratasys 3D printing creates commercial and industrial objects as large as 16″ x 14″ x 16″ using polycarbonate, ABS, and Ultem substrate materials.
Benefits of 3D Printing
- No molds
- Quick Turnaround
- Rapidly modify designs
- Mass customization
- Additional finishing available
- Reduces risk, no major investments
- Cost-effective, no minimum order quantities
Fused deposition modeling is a form of additive manufacturing, in which successive layers of material are laid down to produce the desired shape.
The most common materials used for 3D printing are polycarbonate, PLA, ABS, Nylon, and Ultem.
Fused deposition modeling (3D printing) requires an STL file. The file type is exported from a CAD system.
The printing time is a function of the size and complexity of the design. A simple product could be printed in less than an hour while a complex design could take several days.
Their most common use is in rapid prototyping and rapid manufacturing, though, depending on the product to be created and the material to be used, 3D modeling and FDM can also be viable solutions for mass production.
Our Stratasys equipment is capable of printing objects as large as 16” x 14” x 16”.
