The Difference Between YAG Lasers and CO2 Lasers
CO2 lasers are similar to YAG lasers, except they have a 10.6 μm wavelength, which is 10 times larger than the beam emitted by YAG laser marking machines. YAG lasers also provide more precise laser marking than CO2 lasers because they have a narrower kerf. Due to having a significantly longer wavelength, CO2 lasers are not as easily absorbed by metals but are well-suited for organic materials such as rubber, wood, and acrylic.
